How fitting, let’s just hope the player doesn’t go back in time.

MH Wild Beta. Insect Glaive Vault Dance not back?

Main Post:

I thought they added the aerial vault bounce back in and showed some videos of it. But I've played a bit of the Beta today and can't figure out how to do it. Am I being dumb or is it just not in this beta?

I am one of those people that has 800 hours of MHW and Rise with Insect Glaive and was upset that they removed the vault dance. I was thrilled to hear they added back in but can't seem to see it on the in-game moves list or figure it out on the training dummy.

Appreciate the help. Cheers.

Top Comment: The Beta doesn't have the updated moves for weapons.

Double Slash or Wild Strikes for Grossmesser?

Main Post:

Currently using an Int build with grossmesser and wondering about double slash or wild strikes. Both seem good with it, and the r2 input with wild strikes seems to do a bunch of damage, but I’m worried the animation time of wild strikes will get me hit more often. Double Slash, however, I can choose to not use a second input.

Top Comment:

They're a bit different. Double Slash is quick, has forward momentum, and can be extended twice.

Wild strikes is slower, has little to no forward momentum, you can turn around and cover every area around yourself, deals some consistent and effective damage, has some bonus poise on it, and has two unique finishers.

I'll argue Wild Strikes is best on a big slow weapon that has a lot of damage but might generally be slow or unwieldy. Using it on Great Maces and Greatswords is a fantastic way to deal big repeat damage where you don't really mind missing the first two swings as long as multiple swings connect.

Double Slash is basically just the first two slashes and MAYBE the second two.

And for the Grossmesser specifically... I wouldn't use Wild Strikes. You're better off just slicing regularly. Perhaps going for something like Sword dance. I don't believe Double slash is bad here, but I would still probably suggest you double slash on a different weapon.
